 JOHNSON SHUT-INS DAMAGE PHOTOS
« Thread Started on Dec 28, 2005, 3:32pm »

5-31-06 UPDATE Johnson Shut-Ins State Park has now re-opened, but camping nor swimming will be alllowed this year.

Eventhough not related to Missouri Scenic Rivers, these pictures of another nearby Missouri State Park (Johnson Shut-Ins) that had the nearby Taum Sauk resevoir breech and flood the park back on Dec. 14th, 2005 are just too devastating not to show!!! :(

AmerenUE is offering a new Web site to help businesses near Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park spread the word about recreational attractions still open after the company's Taum Sauk reservoir gave way in December.

The reservoir failure flooded the state park, but several attractions are still open. The new site, http://www.experienceblackriver.com, offers contact information for everything from canoe rentals to ice cream parlors.

It also includes links to other sites that offer additional information about restoration activities at the park.
