After years of being closed, campsites along the Current River at Akers Ferry will reopen, but apparently only for group use. The Akers Group Campsite will be be available for reservations between April 15 and Oct. 15, the Ozark National Scenic Waterways announced.
Group tent campsites for seven to 45 people are available at a group grice of $50 per night, with one night's fee serving as a reservation.
The National Park Service also is opening group campsites at Pulltite and Two Rivers. Reservations can be made by calling the riverways headquarters, (573) 323-4326.
