QUESTION: Need help finding a riverfront campsite along Current or Jack's Fork. Or actually any other river that is similar. I'm not familiar with any of the campgrounds, but have been looking at Pulltite online. Does anyone know which campsites would be best for being right by the river with easy access for the kids to play in the water? I've tried to Google Earth it, but it looks like it's all trees along the river. Can't really tell what the actual campsite would be like. Basically I want a semi-shady campsite beside the river, but not on a hill above it, want easy access, like a gravel bar ... Thanks for any advice. (Would consider any campgrounds.)
ANSWERS: 1) There is one excatly what you looking for with easy access to the river and the campground is right by it. Its called Alley Springs. There are shady spots and sunny spots. It also has caves, show/plays and other cool things to do. It is clo...se to Eminence,MO. And not far away is a place called rockey falls. The river has multipul spots to get in and out and it is right by Harveys (a canoe and rental place) I think it is perfict for what your looking for. Once again it is called "Alley Springs".
2) On the Currrent, ý@ Pulltite, 54 or 55 is great! there is a wide gravel path that leads to a SAND beach. the sites are partially shaded.
3) There is also a PRIMITIVE (no amenities) camping area under the Sinking Creek Bridge on Hwy 19 near Round Spring along the Current River. I believe these are first come - first serve sites only.
