Tips for catching trout on spinning tackle

Looking for any tips and techniques for catching trout on ultra-lite spinning tackle. I'll be floating the Blue Ribbon trophy area so powerbait and the like are out of the question. I plan on taking some 1/8 oz. size crawdad imitations and some small poppers. I'm even debating putting on some beadhead Stonefly nymphs. I'll have a fly rod with me, but I don't have a lot of experience slinging lead with one, especially from a canoe. I'll save the fly rod for wading.

I know this is a little late...but it may be useful for your next trip.. . My first question is how did you do with the crawdad imitations and the poppers??? If they worked...try them again. Try various flys, rooster tails (preferably brown) and maribou jigs if they did not.
