Greetings,
Will be glad to suggest campsites etc. Are you camping on the river or car camping? Will check back in Thursday.

On the Eleven Point I'd suggest Turner Mill or maybe Bliss Spring if you are wanting to drive to your campsite. Turner has more people and Bliss is much more private. If you don't care about being on the river, our campground is free to floaters and we have showers, whereas the river is primitive. Our website is www.11pointcanoe.com. There are plenty of float camps along the river that are accessible by boat only. The shortest float is 5.5 miles (Greer to Turner) or just over 6 miles from Turner to Whitten. These floats range from 2.5 hrs to 3.5hrs.

You can also drive in and camp at Boze Mill Spring or Cane Bluff. All campsites are first come first service. There are also private campgrounds in Greer and Riverton. www.richardscanoerental.com If you want to be [glow=red,2,300] VERY ROWDY [/glow] the best way is to carry your gear and camp on the river. The outfitters do offer gear shuttle service. You can float 20 or 28 miles in two days easily. There is also a 8 mile day or 12 mile day trip.

I will let you in on one of our secret camp sites. It sounds like just what you are looking for, assuming you will be floating, also. The float from Turner's Mill to Whitten is about 6.5 miles. About halfway, you will come to the most rapid shoal in the stretch with a great campsite for lots of people, including large areas of sandpiles for your tents. Right before you get to it, about a quarter mile upstream, you will see an access point on the left that goes through the Irish Wilderness and a cave that you can see from the river on the left. The rapids are immediately after the cave. Great campsite on the right at the head of the rapids or the bottom of the rapids, or both, for your large group. Great place to trout fish as well. You'll love the sound of the rapids while sitting around the campfire.
