This weired "Steve" guy sent me a link to the site. Don't know much about him but I *GUESS* he's OK.... ;D

I found you via a Google search while preparing for my spring float. I am addicted to the scenic rivers so I look for any interesting tidbit I can find to enrich our trips. I guess I'm a river freak too. Life is good.
Here are the rivers I've floated.
Current and Jacks Fork - All time Favorites! Perfect 10!
Elk - pretty but it's not the Current...
Huzzah - pretty and creek like, but we went when it was too dry in August. Made the mistake of rafting (first time for our children in 2000). I called this the river walk. That same weekend we headed to the Current and have been going back yearly since. This is our 6th year there.
Meramec- pretty but sloooowww...still not the Current
Niangua- pretty but full of parties
North Fork/White- very clear and pretty...watch out for the water fall!

Sounds to me like 2 thumbs up, WAY UP, for the Current! That's my favorite river in MO too. My favorite float is from Baptist to Round Spring, but I usually end up doing the Baptist to Akers due to that is one I can do in 1 day and not rush.

i have floated huzzah, current, jacks fork, black, and 11 point. huzzah is nothing but a creek and a giant frat party. 11 point is the only river i float now. nothing compares?  float through national forest the whole route....unless float from Thomasville. current is nice, jack fork is beter, but 1 point is the kink of all floats. |

I googled it. But it was some fantastic pics of Alley Mills and the area around Eminence that got me hooked on the area as a possible retirement site. Thanks

found you on a google search....just beginning to use our canoe after eight years sitting in our yard. I have two teenage age boys and a preteen who are just now getting into canoing. We are always looking for good primitive places to camp & canoe close to Springfield.

Found it while looking up canoe outfitters, on google, for Current River. I just located a canoe sell, buy, trade site and may have found me a 16 footer in Illinois. I sent the guy an email asking for a few pics of it, and asked if he would be interested trading it for one of my custom SKS deer rifles, his price was $300.00 and I have just over $450.00 in the rifle counting the cost of the new parts and their installation. I cant wait to get my own "skinny boat" and get started on any repairs, the modifications, and putting my new camoflame design on and in it.
