You said it! We stayed there this year in August. I was not impressed at all. Have had a much better experience at other campgrounds in the area!

I disagree, as far as camp grounds go, it's pretty clean. Our group stayed there the last two years now on our annual canoe trip, and both times the place was packed. The bathrooms were a bit gross at one point this year (guys... lift the seat when you pee, huh?), but the next time I walked in, they had been cleaned. That shows that yes, the bathrooms get dirty, but the staff is on top of it and actively clean the place. I think it's a rather nice campsite, although the stores could be better stocked. For the money, I like the place. Me and my friends will continue to use it. I do have one issue though... our camp party was crashed by some locals this year. These people had nothing better to do, so they went out to the camp ground to hang out. Sad really that they feel like they have to crash a party at a camp ground. They were pretty annoying, and ended up causing a bit of trouble. So I'd like to see a little enforcement of "registered campers only". A security shack on the entrance checking cars for the little yellow parking tags would go a long way towards keeping out the people that shouldn't be there.

I think that jasons place is a great campground! I have been the past two years with my husband and his three kids and his mom stepdad n brother. It is a lot of fun, and its very clean, yes the rest rooms get a lil dirty but you have to expect that on a wild weekend when a bunch of kids are parting at happy hallow. Its fun to sit by the fire and listen to all the party animals drive by going to happy hallow b/c we always camp right next to the road that goes down to happy hallow. I give jasons place 5 stars! and will continue to keep going back!

Myself and 10 to 12 others have come down in the middle of july for the past 2 years and we have a great time every year so yes the bathrooms can be a little crappy at times but what do you really expect it is the outdoors and not holiday inn express so if u are looking for good times had by all then by all means camp here we are at the top of the hill before the dreaded hill down to happy hollow and might i add don't try walking it and also all ya have to say when your going by is wwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooo

I have been camping at many different places around Missouri and this was the worst that I've ever been to. There was bird droppings everywhere in the bathroom floor curtains wall there was no upkeep in there at all they had water when it decided to work in the sink you did better to use the very scarce water faucet outside the bathroom. They had electric lines hanging on the ground on the family sites they gave us and a tree in one of the sites they rented to us and told us about the tree after they took our money and had us sign papers saying they aren't responsible for problems. They failed to let us know that they don't have much resembling putt putt golf and there swimming pool was not even close to ready to open for the season. The shower houses were a joke and horrible. We decided the day we all got there that we will NEVER EVER EVER RETURN....... I can't believe they don't do anything to fix it up because it could be a decent place. I would choose to stay home next time to avoid this place if that was the only choice I had for camping and we love to camp and go 4-6 times a year for several days at a time. What's sad is that they lost a chance at large group of about 40 in the fall since. What a waste of space....

I have been going to Jason's Place for almost ten years now, and rarely have I been disgusted by the place, however I do usually go during the week to avoid the noise and craziness of the weekend crowd. With the campground only being minutes away from Aker's Ferry, the weekends are gonna be full of partiers and yes even locals. I can only imagine how hard it would be to keep the place clean on the weekends....
