July 10, 2009 The campground itself was OK, the showers were free instead of needing to feed it quarters. The "senior" staff were less than desirable to deal with. Not helpful at all, crabby & rude in some instances. Example: a girl came in who had lost her keys and asked if anyone turned any keys in....senior staff member replies "not to me"....well guess what you're not the only one working here!! Staff members says I have locksmith you can call. I thought oh I bet you do.... I then pipe up and say maybe you have a lost found that could be checked?? Oh yes the staff member says...there's a whole box here full of keys!!! UGH unbelievable! Worst part of the experience was the tube rental.....A complete JOKE! If you want to do a float trip while camping don't go here! If you rent tubes instead of canoes, etc..you drive 2 miles from the camp site, PICK OUT YOUR OWN TUBES...riffling through all their crappy, uninflated ones and then are expected to drive them back in your own vehicle to the camp site for pick up from a bus to head to your start point! MAJOR HASSLE, and confusing, not worth it at all! Another major downfall of this camping experience....no cell phone service, they need to let you know this on their website, huge inconvenience! And last but not least, they don't sell beer there, you have to go down the road??? Just weird really, they have these stores and they don't sell beer?? We won't go back here for sure, we'll go back to our usual spot next year.
