absolutely no upkeep done here-wasps nests throughout restrooms-you DO have to pay for showers which sprays the area meant for dressing-huge ruts and potholes in dirt roads-not a very tent friendly camping place due to hills and lack of mowing done-extra fee for electrical which is located very close to road so be sure to bring lots of extension cords-taxes are not included in the rates stated-would never recommend or return to this place.
For anyone who has ever heard the term "Ozark Mountains" the area of Akers Missouri is a beautiful example. Devils Back Bone is located on highway K just a couple of miles from the Akers Ferry and has been featured in conservation magazines for it's spectacular view. Yes, there are hills in the area, and they are BEAUTIFUL! ;D
Wasp nest are removed continually. All fees are posted in the brochure and on the internet. Did you read them? You are camping in the country and not the city. These people work hard and I bet you have never worked a 16 hour day. Some of the shower houses are free. Did you know that?
Oh sure, there are other free "showers"... A wood box with nothing but a hose w/zero water pressure hanging from the ceiling. Not even a single nail in the wall to hang a towel!!! Doors were on each shower, but only 1 of 3 had a light inside!
