Hello, I am planning a canoe trip next week from Baptist to Big Spring and will be on the river for a week and would like some info about getting any supplies I may need such as ice as I float down the river. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks

Don,
Sure, not a problem. Sounds like a fun trip. I had done that float one time and loved it! My only pet peeve was when you approach Van Buren you exit the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and house start popping up along the river, not to mention boats with motors become more common. But, as a whole, 95% of your float will be scenic, secluded and within the park.
As for supplies along the way, well, there is a store at Akers Ferry, Pulltite, Round Spring and Two Rivers. I recommend stocking up at Akers and then again at Two Rivers. Those two stops should do well for you since the stores are very close to the river. Pulltite and Round Spring, I can't recall how close to the river they are, but they are there. The stores are all open 7 days per week during the season. They have ice, munchies, supplies, etc.
Let me know if this helps.
